At the time I thought, and still do, that this was a great advancement. It made the gameboy an instrument that easily fit into a modern studio, it wasnt trying to BE a modern studio. One of the problems I always felt held the gameboy back was chiptuners reluctance to integrate it in with other instruments. Sure nanoloop can make some pretty awesome drum sounds, but I would rather have a drum machine do it and open up those channels for exploration. I always felt like this was the way to do it.
